LarkSpirit was formed to bring better visibility to the Irish struggle by providing an Internet resource for organizations, publications and individuals who promote freedom with justice for Ireland.
At the time of LarkSpirit's formation, the world wide web was a fairly new medium, and there were limited sources and resources available to Irish activists. LarkSpirit served a useful purpose to an underserved community, and continues to be immensely proud of our past and current work. In the intervening years, much has changed, and the web is now bustling with many Irish and Irish-related sites. Some of the sites LarkSpirit has worked on were built around specific campaigns, and as such, are not active or updated. Others have outlived their usefulness and have been retired completely and are not online anymore, or, like An Glor Gafa. Some cooperative efforts we were part of -- like OrangeWatch and The Irish People -- have been taken over by very capable hands.
